Workspace in Progress

I was asked about how I store my Washi Tape and I thought I’d share that and a quick overview of what my desk looks like right now. Nope I didn’t clean it up to share with you all. It’s never a clear table. Why pretend it is.

And I actually have photos on my desk. See I still scrapbook. The Technique Tuesday stamps you don’t see hanging (most of them) are in the Stuff that needs a home box. I haven’t decided how I want to handle my seasonal, lesser used stamps. Everything expect the baby wipes holder (Target) and the Copic storage (Cascade gel packs box) everything is from Ikea. Scrapbook supplies came from the internet, Michaels/Joann/Hobby Lobby, and my new favorite place to shop Our Paper Place If you come to visit I’ll take you there. If you live in the area go there. It’s amazing!

Now for the Washi Tape:I have all my Target tapes up front along with my roll of Smash tape and a couple of rolls from Michael’s. I really thought I had a roll with little people on them, but they’re birds on a wire. Not really the same thing.

Well that’s what I have set up so far. My inks, embellishments, random other stuff is still working on finding a good home under the table, but for now it’s all working.  Also there might be a post in a week or two about my attempt at packing for a 12 hour crop. I haven’t scrapbooked outside my house since before 2010. So that’ll be an adventure.

Thanks for reading and happy crafting! ❤ Ann

CAS-ual Fridays challenge #46

This weeks challenge from CAS-ual Fridays was to create a card based on a song.

I first thought of the Grease song “You’re the One that I Want” and I came up with the card design. Then I was getting ready to add my sentiment and I found the “You’re the one for me” and to me they mean the same thing. So here is my card:

Those cute dogs are from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Burbs, the heart is from Critters Ever After, and greeting is from Clear to See.  I used C3 and C5 for the grey dogs and E11 and E13 for the brown one. I used Y06 for the collar tag, R29 and B29 for the collars, and R22 for the nose. Thanks for looking and happy crafting! ❤ Ann

Happy Easter!

It feels so good to be crafting again and to have space for my outlet. The moving company is coming to pick up all the empty boxes today and then I’ll finish cleaning up my space and share photos. I couldn’t be happier with my space so far and can’t wait to finish it. I really believe a happy space helps. At least for me.

Today’s card: With Easter coming I needed a couple cards to send to family and this is the first. I made this card by cutting eggs out of white cardstock from my Silhouette and then covering them in washi tape I got from Target ($4 for 4 rolls! They’re in the office supply section). I made two of the purple dotted one and added pop dots so one would stand out. You could easily open one up and have a chick pocking out for a different effect. I then stamped with greeting with Lawn Fawn’s Jessie’s ABCs in Jenni Bowlin ink. A quick and easy card you could send to anyone. You could even get kids involved with white eggs and markers. I’m sure a grandparent would love to receive  artwork.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting. ❤ Ann

Moving!

This week my husband and I moved into our California apartment. We’ve been living in corporate hosing for the last month and I’m ready to finally get into our own space. I’m starting to really miss my Silhouette, that circle punch I didn’t think I’d need, and having a place to store things.

I had hopes of crafting more and posting all month through this transition, but the time change has kicked my butt. As did that 24 hours at Disneyland. I am feeling refreshed and renewed to get started again. Even to get started putting Project Life together . So I’d to apologize for my lack of posts, but know that come April 2, my weekly cards will be moving to Monday, I will be back with a great new simple card to share. I have a collection of new Lawn Fawn stamps and some new paper to play with. I even have a print order and I hope to share some layouts in the next couple of weeks as well.   And once I figure out how to set up my scrap space I’ll be sharing that as well. I only have a 5ftx3ft space to work in now. So I have to make the best use of it.

Because no post is a post without a picture. I took this with my new 35mm lens at the Redwood Forest. Not the right lens to take shots of tall trees, but I didn’t know where we were going and that was the lens on the camera and I went with it. If you’re interested in more pictures from our first weeks in California they can be found in an album here.

Birthday Card for a Boy

This card is great for a boy or a boy at heart who likes or loves trains. I used the Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum Lawn Fawn set for the train and smoke. The Happy Birthday is from Hats off to You. I colored it in with Copics and I have a quick simple card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed birthday card week! Thanks for reading and happy crafting! ❤ Ann

I’m so glad I bought a new lens. My card photography will be improving in the future!

Happy Birthday: Silhouette P&C idea

To create the butterflies I first took the design from my Silhouette and printed them out and before putting it in the Silhouette to cut I colored them in with Copics. I then sent them to be cut and I had perfect color and sized butterflies for my card. The greeting is Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs.

thanks for reading and happy crafting ❤ Ann

2 for Tuesday: Birthday cards

These cards were fun and easy to make. I colored and cut out the gifts from a Lawn Fawn’s Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum set. I trimmed down a sheet of scrap to 4×5.25 (the Chevron is Echo Park, the stripes is Authentique) I cut the labels out with the Silhouette and stamped Celebrate from the Technique Tuesday Studio AE sets from March 2011. I wrapped some twine around it. A great card that can be adapted for his and hers.

Happy Birthday Week

Welcome to the card inspiration week for February.  My plan is to keep my posts going for the next month during our move and getting settled, but I apologize now if I miss a Friday or two.

I made this card for my MILs birthday last week. I used a piece of 6×6 Basic Grey that I’ve had for awhile. I cut the scalloped circles with the Silhouette. I stamped and colored the flower pot from Lawn Fawn’s On the Mend stamp set.  The label is also cut with the Silhouette. I stamped the greeting with Lawn Fawn’s Sophie’s Sentiments. I added the brads after coloring them purple with a Copic marker.

Thanks for reading and happy crafting. ❤ Ann

My card photography should be approving after the move. I’ve bought a new lens for my camera which should help me take better photos. I’m also hoping to have natural light in my place. Something I don’t have before.

Lawnscaping Challenge #27

For this challenge I actually got around to creating the valentines day card for my hubby.  I started out by using Teeny Tiny Backdrops and stamping it in Cough Syrup and adding some glossy accents to all the open hearts. While that dried I cut a Polaroid for Say Cheese. The fox, raccoon, and tree are from Critters in the Forest. I colored the tree with YG 63 and 67. The fox with E 33 and 37. The raccoon with C3 and 5. That bow is from Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum and the hat from Hats off to You. I colored them in with Y06 and 100 for the hat.  I stamped the greeting, also from Critters in the Forest. I stamped it first in Seed Packet and then went around and filled the rest of the space using Soap Powder. I wrapped some black Twinery twine and used a My Mind’s Eye button to finish it off.
