Friday Card: Celebrate

This simple card was made with scraps from my Week in the Life album. (I know I still owe pictures of the final product) The greeting was stamped with Cakes and Candles which was March Studio AE which I bought with this months stamps. I just loved it so much. I stuck a couple of brads into the middle of the stars. The inside is stamped with Happy Birthday to you from the same set. Now to get this into the mail for one of the several birthdays of loved ones I have coming up.  Thanks for visiting & happy crafting! ❤ Ann

December Daily…too early?

For the past few years I’ve seen Ali Edwards do her December Daily album and looked at others. Every year I say I’m going to do it. Last year I really thought about it, but never did. This year however I have a plan of attack. It’s going to be super simple. It’s going to be in a 6×6 album…and before anyone’s jaw drops that I’m doing a square album..I’m not. I’m going to be doing 4×6 photos with a 4×6 page with it (a piece of 25 days of Christmas from Simple Stories) and the 6×6 album is so the days can go both ways depending on the photo. I’m not sure how much journaling I’ll really have. Maybe a little bit about ornaments and other trinkets we put out every Christmas season, our Christmas wish lists, and family traditions. I’m sure I’ll find some days where a photo will just seem enough. Some days I’m sure I’ll struggle with finding something to share…luckily I’ve got plenty of special ornaments. So yes, my DD may turn into a minibook about my tree, but hopefully there will be more to share.

Is anyone else thinking about their December Daily album? Thanks for reading & happy crafting! ❤ Ann

Technique Tuesday Project

The front of the box

Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a special project to share with you today. As a member of the Studio AE club for Technique Tuesday I was mailed a 3x3x3 cube and asked to create something. I created a wedding momento box. I used stamps from June and August and papers are My Minds Eye Lost and Found 6×6 Union Square pack. I also used Stazon, Jenni Bowlin Inks, and the Tiny Attacher. Inside the box will go my husband’s pocket square, a piece of my bouquet, and small jars of sand from the sand ceremony.  On the right side stamped piece. I created that as the arrow for the one I was going to use pointed the wrong way.  Thanks for visiting and happy crafting! ❤ Ann

Birthday Card

Today’s card is pretty easy to make. I cut the number border out with the Silhouette on some Bo Bunny paper. Then I cut come circles from another Bo Bunny paper. I picked up a scrap of Echo Park’s Dots and Stripes. I used pop dots on the number and smaller ballons. I added  a some twine from strings and all I have to do is write a greeting inside and I’ve got a birthday card to send out for any number of upcoming birthdays. You could even cut out the numbers a 2nd time in a different color to highlight the age the person is turning…which would work for some ages, but not for those that I’m thinking of using it for.

Disneyland Castle Shot

Disneyland layoutI started this layout with the sketch 4 2×6 strips up top the 4×6 photo on bottom and a 2×4 stripe with 3 of some sort of embellishment  along side the photo. I used pieces from Basic Grey’s Max & Whiskers 6×6 pad that I bought on clearance from my LSS. I skipped all the animal papers as well they just didn’t work for obvious reasons. I was working on pulling out the gold from the flags and castle and blue from the sky. I pulled three white buttons from stash and added some twine and then started on the title tag. I cut it out with a shape from the Silhouette store. I then stamped the date and “best vacation ever” and then added the title with stickers…more twine and I had a simple layout. You could even skip the tag and add the title in big letters across the “seam” area.

Products used: Basic Grey’s Max & Whiskers 6×6 Pad, Twine: The Twinery  (Peapod, Lemon Drop, Cappuccino), Stamps: Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Too, Ink: Jenni Bowlin (Fountain Pen), Stickers: American Crafts, Buttons: Unknown, Silhouette shape:  4_luggage_tags_C01119_20509

Product Review: Tim Holtz Grid Blocks

When I started stamping a few months ago I had a couple of blocks, a 3×3, 1×1, and 2×3. It didn’t take too long for me to add a 1×6 block. I then bought Lawn Fawn’s Say Cheese stamps, but I didn’t have a block big enough for the Polaroid. I could have bought a 4×6 block, but I couldn’t find one I was happy with. I then saw these wonderful blocks posted on Tim Holtz’s blog. There are 9 blocks in this set ranging from 1×2 to 5×8. I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another block. Another bonus is that these are only 1/8th of an inch thick so they travel and store in just a fraction of the space 9 regular blocks. I feel with these being so thin I have better control over the stamps compared to other blocks. since these have a grid on them it’s easy to line up my stamps. I bought mine a local scrapbook store for $21,95. You can find them online at several stores: Stampers Anonymous  Simon Says Stamp (which as of 9/11 has them on sale for $18.66). You can also sometimes find these on ebay, but be careful as I’ve seen quite a few people selling a 5 pack of just smaller blocks for around $10.

Lawn Fawn Card

This is a simple card I made with Critters on the Farm by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the mama chicken and her baby chicks. Then I stamped the greeting in red and then followed it up across the card in yellow.  A simple hello card to send to a friend to just say hi or to cheer them up.
