Technique Tuesday Project

The front of the box

Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a special project to share with you today. As a member of the Studio AE club for Technique Tuesday I was mailed a 3x3x3 cube and asked to create something. I created a wedding momento box. I used stamps from June and August and papers are My Minds Eye Lost and Found 6×6 Union Square pack. I also used Stazon, Jenni Bowlin Inks, and the Tiny Attacher. Inside the box will go my husband’s pocket square, a piece of my bouquet, and small jars of sand from the sand ceremony.  On the right side stamped piece. I created that as the arrow for the one I was going to use pointed the wrong way.  Thanks for visiting and happy crafting! ❤ Ann

Minibook

I’m working on my first mini book in 2-3 years. It’s still a rectangular base size (4×6), and I’m loving it, but it got me thinking what makes it mini? Is it the 4×6 size because I’ve got 48 pages prepped for this book + covers. I’m only going to be using papers from the new Echo Park “For the Record” The theme of the book is Wedding Moments. It includes a lot of 4×3 photos from all the wedding events + the save the date and 1 photo from DH’s bachelor party. I’m going to bind it with my Bind-it-All when it’s all done. I think I’ve used it only 3-4 times since I had to have it shortly after it came out.

I hope when it’s done it’ll then be something I can show our wedding photos to friends and family and then I feel a bit more free to start minimoon, continue honeymoon, start my Disney blog album, and then catching up on the photos I haven’t printed in over 2 years (because outside of wedding photos and some honeymoon, I haven’t made a print order since mid 2009)

Here’s the cover to the “mini” book:

What do you do when you lose your mojo?

I had been steadily doing a layout or two a day since the end of January. Recently I started a photo order. Which possibliy one of the things I hate the most. Editing photos, choosing which photos I want to scrap. Before Thanksgiving of last year my last photo order was over a year before that. So I’ve got a lot of Disney trips, other events, and a folder I found called “print me”. I’m finally getting all my photos in the same place and then organized, not that I’ve decided the best way to do that.  I think being able to print my photos at home and print 1-5 at a time that inspire me then, but I don’t really have the funds to buy one right now, but I’m sure I’ll put on on my birthday list.

I tend to browse scrapbook galleries looking for layouts to scraplift to get my back into the grove, do some shopping, or just walk away for a few days. I haven’t really sat down at my desk for 2 days. I also try to clean my work space when I’m blocked so when I’m ready it’s clean and ready to go, but right now I’ve got a stack of memorabilia that needs to be sorted from my honeymoon, and the layouts I’ve made in the past few months trying to pick the best ones that showcase my style for a design team call for a company I’d love to work with.

What do you do when you get scrapblocked or lose your mojo?

and because I don’t feel a post is complete without a layout:
All Together layout A wedding layout I did a couple weeks back. I used 4 4×1.75 strips of Basic Grey 1 for each member of the wedding party then I put their first initial at the bottom. I cut the title and initials with the cricut using a mac font I had on my computer. I then inked the letters and drew a thin brown border around it all.

Layout a Day Feb Update

Is anyone else trying to do a layout a day this month or this year? Not sure I could keep it up all year, but I’ve been doing really well this month. So far I’ve created 5 layouts and a tiny minibook for a gift.  Some of my layouts have been simple, but I’m a fan of simple sometimes letting the photo tell the story. Although I hope to do more journaling this year.
